Social media is an enabler of people
working together in their communities of practice. These communities are joined by common needs,
actions, business focus, interests and goals. The success of our communities of
practice has traditionally been dependent on the capability of people to
collaborate and share knowledge, techniques, advice, insight and guidance.
In the past, when we needed advice
and consultation about our responsibilities, we would tap our mentor or subject
matter expert on the shoulder and ask for support. As businesses and workplaces
evolve, we have to rely on doing the same electronically, and enabling our
peers to share in the conversation. The specific media is not as important as
the community of practice that employs it.
We focus on the collaboration within
the community, and adoption of the platform to enable it. Learning is part of
the value gained from the community; sharing is the greatest value. RWD will
help assess your needs and ensure adoption of your communities and platform.
